Faith Formation
There is a sign when you enter Bishop Kelley Catholic School that reads as follows:
"Be it known to all who here that Christ is the reason for this school. He is the unseen but ever-present teacher in its classes. He is the model of its faculty and the inspiration of its students."
With this as our backbone, Bishop Kelley Catholic School seeks to instill the virtues and lessons of Catholic faith and heritage. Each grade has daily religion activities that lead them through Church history and doctrine and also seek to help each child build their personal and profound relationship with Christ Jesus.
You'll find that each classroom prays, and children are encouraged to express their faith through activities, prayer, sharing, and more. Furthermore, the entire school participates in weekly mass every Friday morning. Here children are active participants in the liturgy, serving as lectors, altar servers, and choir. Father imparts a homily with these young members of our faith community in mind, often encouraging participation.
Teachers also continue in their own faith development with weekly staff prayer services and continuing education at the seminary in Detroit.
